Education in Remetea has a history of more than 250 years, but the largest school building in the commune is just over fifty years old, it was constructed in 1961–1962. Since then, the central school building (often referred to simply as the central school) has undergone several renovations and expansions, including the addition of new classrooms in 2012. During the 2011–2012 school year, the institution had 770 students.

Teaching and educational activities take place in several locations throughout the commune — in the center, across three buildings (the main building, the “Vaskapus” school, and the old daycare building), as well as in the Templomtér school, Alszeg kindergarten, Tejporgyár special school, Tulamaros daycare and kindergarten, and in Csutakfalva at the Balás Jenő Primary School and the kindergarten operating in the Community House of Csutakfalva.
