- The Tourist Information Centre is located in a distinctive building designed specifically for that purpose. The building embodies both past and present: one of its facades is the remnant of a residential house (later the village hall) built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, a reminder of Remetea’s process of modernization. Beside this wall, architect Máthé Zoltán designed a modern, flat-roofed building with wooden cladding.

- In 2012 Remetea’s digital database was installed in the Tourist Information Centre. Visitors have access to four touchscreens where they can view multimedia content: photographs of the village, films and short movies. The information centre’s floor itself is an information medium: using an aerial image of the settlement, Remetea’s streets can be explored across just a few square metres.

After the regime change the building underwent an unsuccessful renovation, eventually only the street-facing facade of the village hall remained and the rest was demolished. A decision had to be made whether to rebuild the old town hall, but actually there were no space for it because the community centre was built nearby, or to construct a new mayoral office and demolish what was left of the old one.
The facility was made possible with the 500,000 lei award won by Remetea Municipality from the Rural Development Fund.
